Club trip to thorpe park any suggestions???

without anything definite going ahead perhaps just as an end of season break, an idea has arisen to have a trip to thorpe park or somewhere of the like for club members to have a day out together and would just like to see what the clubs views were on the idea. No date has been arranged but i wondered if the 29/09/07 would take peoples interest (the saturday after the last game of the season) it would be a day for club members to spend an enjoyable day with each other and just wondered what the members views were on the idea
leave replys with a suggestion if you have any other ideas

could go paintballing
bulldog

paintballing unfortuantely couldn't cater for all ages of the club. we had this on the last trip. the club couldn't afford to have several injuries (thinking more of younger members) also we had one paintballing trip earlier and it might be nice to have a change. its the biggest theme park in the UK and could easily entertain people of all ages! also some of the older members of the club might not see the fun in paintballing anymore! whereas at thorpe park you're not restriced to one activity theres something for everyone

stretch16

i would love it im not a fan of rolercoasters but like u say bulldog loads to do would be brilliant wat would we do hire coach n work it out per person n put it on there ticket? If we are going to do this need to decide sooner rather than later mate so we can book it and give people time to deide
samtruss1986

deffo up for a day out to thorpe park, dunno when im back for deffo might be earlier than nov, plus theme parks aint too nice in the winter rain, good idea tho and im deffo up for it
bulldog

just wondering if people were keen on the idea of hiring out a coach maybe get a few friends to come along...even if they are not members it might help us to attract some members. im currently sitting in IT sending details to coach companies asking for quotes i've worked out that the actual park for the entire day works out to be around 24 pounds per person if i was to book it online but that would mean people getting all of their money in by a certain date so i can book it. i am also emailing thorpe park to see if they could give us a deal as we would be taking a large group. many thanks everyone keep the suggestions coming in!!!!

gd work, wud be awesome! few more team bonding idea thruout season wudnt go a miss
bulldog

i have emailed 7 different coach companies asking for quotes for the 29th. should be good, the weather should still (hopefully) be good from the summer. i am currently waiting for replys from the coach companies and from thorpe park with some quotes seeing what sort of deal they could offer us with a large amount of people.
many thanks all keep the ideas coming in!!!

I fail to see the point of getting some team spirit going when the season has finished. Just don't make sense.

As for thorpe park being the biggest theme park in england, bolloc_s is it... I read somewhere that Alton Towers was the biggest theme park in europe... or doesn't that count?????

Team spirit and having the ability to able to ride a rollercoaster without puking up don't win cricket matches. Scoring hundreds, taking wickets and holding catches does.....
gatty

also m8 cause i am going wid my schoo, soon there is a place were u can get a speed pass so u can get through the rides quicker
Artois

Still might be a good laugh though Jacko.

Why don't we organise something for now then?

Could go to the races or dogs maybe?

Or even better, we could tour Norway?
bulldog

at the end of the day lee i can see your point but...try to find me a time during the cricket season when there aren't kids at school, people at work (midweek) or a match on?! i thought it might be a good laugh for the team to have a break together at the end of the season just generally to let off steam and stress the season may have brought!
bulldog
inzie

shame u dont offer ur services more often lee or we wudnt be where we r hey.....haha
bulldog

sorry as well lee...it isn't the biggest theme park in the UK but has been voted the UK's most entertaining theme park 2007
bulldog

good good cheapest ive found for a 49 seater coach from the club to thorpe park and home again is 495 pounds which works out to £10.10 per person which personally i didn't think was that bad entrance for the day i think we're lookin at 20 pounds-ish each but...im looking into it and will let you know as soon as i hear. there will be spare spaces to be filled so those who wish to bring friends along please feel free! it will be done on a first come first serve basis. and questions just message me or email me on jimmy_smiff@hotmail.com many thanks

Paulo

I will come if I can bring my disabled friend ?

This enables me to get queue jumps to the front, so I can on the rides straight away......
inzie

i shud be better by then browno haha
Artois

Wouldn't put it past you Browny.

You can probably get a discount if with him as well.
Paulo

Yeah its awesome, we take Zoe's Dad along, when he gets knackered we remove his 'queue jump' wristband off him whilst he has a sleep in the Camper and put it on her uncle ...... win win situation !!

Wonka - Rugby Club after the game sat ?

Stuie - your Mum is on Tea Duty Sat, please give her a gentle remainder - Thanks.
bulldog

well....i think the 29th has to be the date to be set its the closest date where there are not children at school/college, adults at work or a cricket match on. so the 29th sounds good. im still awaiting an email form thorpe park regarding a cheap deal on our tickets but will let you know as soon as i get it.
many thanks
bulldog!
bulldog

also i have jsut received an email another coach quote which is 500 pounds for a 53 seat coach for the day. how does that sound people i am going to have to wait for all of the quotes to come back first!
many thanks

stretch16

obviously club members take priotry yeh bulldog but outsiders welcome ot fill seats yh?
bulldog

all members will need to have their name up on a poster going up on the notice board before this weekend! It shall be made open to outsiders on monday the 16th july. so, if you wish please tell a friend and if they wish to attend ask them to either email me on jimmy_smiff@hotmail.com or ring me on 01255 506519 it shall be accommodated on a first come first serve basis, therefore if all of the spaces are filled by club members before the deadline of opening it to outsiders then we wont be able to take any outsiders but if a club member decides they wish to attend after all of the places are filled then they will not be able to attend. any queries email me on the above address or leave a comment.
