Hi All
Like everyone else in the club I was absolutely gutted about the final outcome of this year. Having tried everything we could, results during the middle of the season took it away from us.
However the 2007 season is over.....we take the positives (thrashing the champs, two brilliant run chases and 6 wins in total. Plus the emergence of younger players in the club) and move on to 2008.
Next year is our 60th year and although we are in Division 6 we still have a job to do which is win the league. Any success is better than none and next year we should see even more improvement from our younger players and hopefully more competition for 1st XI places.
I was proud of the 2nds achievements this year....Ray and Co you did a great job finishing mid table and by staying there you have given the 1st XI extra help for next year as the gap between the two leagues is minimal, so players coming in will be able to adjust quicker.
Lastly I was proud how we knuckled down and battled at the end of the season. We showed at the start..and the end how with passion and confidence we would push any team. Next year no matter what we must not let our heads drop at ANY STAGE.
So as the 3rds finish off there season, lets look to enjoying the end of year do, enjoy the winter off....some of us will be back into practice mode pre xmsa but hey....and be ready to win some silverware next year......!!
haha lol barwood
